AU 2020 Expert Elite Live Meetup

2020 was a very interesting year for everyone because of Covid. Because of all the different forms of group gather restriction going on in each state and city, Autodesk University was live online for the first time and not in person in Vegas. Autodesk University 2020 was called AU2020 digital meaning most of the Autodesk presentations and classes presented by Autodesk were live online. The other remaining classes were pre-recorded and went live available to watch on the first day of AU. The the Keynote address was live online like usual, and but Autodesk also made the Answer Bar also live each day where attendees could login and ask Q&A with Autodesk product managers and Autodesk Expert Elite members like myself.

As president of the DFWBIUG I decided to do something very unique for our user group members and AU attendees. During AU digit, we hosted 4 live sessions being broadcast throughout the day. With the help of Autodesk EE, Communities, marketing departments we were able to spread the word about our event. During the early morning session of the 18th of November, we hosted the "Getting to Know our Autodesk Expert Elite Members" with a few guest speakers. Our in person guest speakers were Todd Rogers and Chris Fugitt. Afterwards we hosted the live "Autodesk Trivia Games". This was fun watching our online members and host guess old Autodesk software.

Later after lunch we hosted the "Q&A with Autodesk EE and Industry Experts". To join our discuss we had another guest speaker Joe Soliz from BIM Optimized. For our final session we hosted the "What is the Autodesk Group Network, Community Dojo and Autodesk Services Marketplace" event. Our guest speakers from Autodesk were Rachel Hartley, Chris Benner, and Rachel Rosenkrantz. Overall we had a great time hosting these 4 live events. I also wanted to thank Todd and Chris and Joe for attending our event live in person.

The next day I took Todd and Chris to Dallas Cowboy stadium for a tour. It was great experience viewing all the great facilities that stadium has. We did have other EE members and guest speakers lined up for our event but family emergency came up. Overall the event good. If we do have another AU digital we will make this event even better with more guest speakers.
